Come on an unforgettable floatplane flight
over 75 miles of lush Alaskan wilderness
Just outside Juneau's back door lies the 1,500 square mile
Juneau Icefield, caused when the annual snowfall exceeded the summer melt. The huge, jagged cracks are crevasses which result from the solid ice mass breaking up as it flows
like a river through mountain valleys. The unique blue color is caused by the purity of the ice and the extreme pressures
during the formation process. This pure ice absorbs all the colors of the spectrum except blue, which is reflected back.
